How can you tell if a job uses Personio?
Personio career pages live at company-name.jobs.personio.com or company-name.jobs.personio.de. The form typically asks for your details, a resume upload (the employer decides whether it is required), other documents, any custom questions, and agreement to a data privacy statement, which is always a required field.
Each document can be up to 20 MB, in formats including PDF, DOCX, DOC, JPEG, PNG, TXT, ODT and RTF.
How does Personio screen applicants?
If the employer opts in, Personio parses every incoming resume to fill fields such as name, contact details, current title and years of experience. Employers can also turn on automated screening: if your answers to list-of-options questions do not meet their criteria, the application moves straight to Rejected. Both are off by default.
Personio’s AI parsing currently reads documents up to 3.5 MB, even though uploads can be up to 20 MB. Keep your resume small and text-based so it can be parsed.
Some employers also use Personio’s Talent Screening Agent, which Personio describes as an advisory tool only. A person makes the decision.
- State language skills and work authorization clearly. Many Personio roles are in Europe and ask about both.
- Answer option questions precisely. They are the ones automated screening uses.
What resume format works best on Personio?
Upload a text-based PDF under 3.5 MB so Personio’s parser can read it, with one column, standard headings and clear dates. Put your current title near the top, since parsing pulls current title and years of experience. For European roles, add languages and your right to work in the country.
