How to find roles faster (and before everyone else)

Search company career boards directly, set alerts, apply early and use referrals: a practical system for finding the right roles.

Where are the jobs posted first?

On the company’s own ATS board. Roles often appear on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday or Comeet before they reach LinkedIn or Indeed. You can search those boards directly with Google:

  • (site:boards.greenhouse.io OR site:jobs.lever.co OR site:jobs.ashbyhq.com OR site:myworkdayjobs.com OR site:comeet.com/jobs) "Product Designer" "Tel Aviv"
  • Then set Tools → Past week to see only fresh roles.

Screenpass’s Find roles page builds these searches for each of your target roles.

How do you build a target list?

  • Write down 20–40 companies you’d actually want to work for, by industry, stage and location.
  • Follow their career pages and the hiring managers for your function.
  • Track every role you find on one board, so nothing slips and you can see what’s working.

Does applying early matter?

Yes. Early applicants are reviewed before the pile grows. Aim to apply within the first two or three days of a posting, with a tailored resume rather than a fast generic one.

Why are referrals so powerful?

Across many studies, referred candidates are hired several times more often than applicants from job boards. Estimates range from about 4× to over 10×; the direction is consistent even if the exact number varies. See our guide to asking for a referral.

How many applications should you send?

Quality beats volume. Ten well-matched, tailored applications with two or three referrals usually beat a hundred one-click applies. Track your response rate: below about 10% usually means the resume or the targeting needs work.

Frequently asked questions

Search company ATS boards directly with Google site: searches (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, Comeet), follow target companies’ career pages, and ask your network about roles before they’re posted.

Is Easy Apply worth it?

It is fast, but competition is high and must-have screening questions can auto-reject. Use it for strong matches and tailor your resume first.

Check your resume against the screen before you apply.
